Grid built a fully digital nightlife experience for clubs, bars, festivals and restaurants. I designed and developed the architecture for the client-facing mobile apps, and worked across the backend and the web app while a team of six shipped an entire product.

What I did

  1. Mobile architecture, from nothing

    Designed and developed the entire architecture for the client-facing mobile apps, rather than inheriting one.

  2. Shipping without ceremony

    CI/CD pipelines with Fastlane and GitHub Actions, delivering straight to the App Store and Play Store.

  3. Into the backend

    Worked in the Node and GraphQL backend to deliver features end to end, instead of stopping at the API boundary.

  4. And the web app

    Time in the EmberJS app too. Six engineers on a whole product means the boundaries are negotiable.

Seed stage, six engineers, one product. That ratio is the reason the work spans mobile architecture, release tooling, GraphQL and someone else's Ember codebase in the same year.
